Song Premiere: Mother Hips, “Saint Andrew”

Mother Hips
The Artist: West Coast rock outfit The Mother Hips
The Song: “Saint Andrew,” from the album Chronicle Man
Fun Fact: Chronicle Man is a collection of songs that the band culled from their mid-90s archives of unreleased material.
Songwriter Says: “The San Andreas Fault is a giant earthquake fault running down the center of California. It is said that all the land west of it will some day fall into the ocean. If you live in California you have a built-in fear of it. ‘Saint Andrew’ is a kind of fictional history that attempts to explain how such a dreadful geological feature could get named after an apostle of Jesus.”
