‘The Voice’ Season 27 Live Blog: Live Finale, Part 1 (May 19, 2025)

After a thrilling season of The Voice, we’ve finally reached the finale. Tonight marks part one of a two-part live grand finale that will see the remaining five contestants battle it out in hopes of being crowned champion. The show begins at 8/7c tonight on NBC.

Johnston closed out the episode with a performance of Chris Stapleton’s 2020 song, “Cold.” All four coaches were on their feet after his impressive showing, with Ballerini telling him, “I didn’t know how good you were until you did that song… I’m so proud to be your coach.”

While speaking to Daly and Bublé, Cree said that making it to the finale is “absolutely insane.” That was even more true given that her dad, Bryan Olesen, previously placed third on the show. 

“I just want to have another party. I just want fun and I want people to enjoy it,” Cree said, before revealing that she’ll be singing Dexys Midnight Runners’ “Come on Eileen” for her final performance of the night.

The Team Bublé star wowed during his second time on stage, performing Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake’s “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” Bublé was fired up after David’s performance, telling him, “I’m shaking. That was 100 out of 100… That’s what it’s about, dude.”

In a conversation with Daly and Bublé, David discussed coming from a one-chair turn, to being saved by America, to making it to the finals.

“I feel like what’s been happening is this culmination of this permission to believe in myself,” David said. 

David is trying to earn himself a win by singing “Hard Fought Hallelujah” by Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake.

“Six years ago, I hit my rock bottom,” David said as to why he chose the song. “I almost gave up and I fought to be here.”

For her second performance of the night, Flores-Wiseman opted to sing “Wildflower” by Billie Eilish. Levine was on his feet after Flores-Wiseman’s time on stage, and told the singer, “That was so good. That was so amazing.”

Lucia Flores-Wiseman Reflects on Her Journey

While speaking to Daly and Levine, Flores-Wiseman said that reaching the finals on The Voice is a “dream come true.” She said she decided to be a part of Team Adam after his pitch, which included a comparison to Brandi Carlile. “I knew that you were going to be here,” Levine said. 

Flores-Wiseman will try to solidify a win by performing Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower.”

In his first performance of the night, Team Bublé’s David expertly sang Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful to Me.”

“I love you, Adam,” Legend said. “… It was really gorgeous… You did a beautiful song much justice tonight.”

Bublé pleaded with fans to vote, telling viewers that David is “one of my favorite singers.”

For his first performance of the night, Johnston covered Dierks Bentley’s 2003 track “What Was I Thinkin’.” He stumbled at the beginning, but Ballerini assured him, “The way that you recover is the only thing that matters. You locked back in… That was the most impressive part. I’m really proud of you.”

In a look back at Jaelen Johnston’s journey on the show, the country singer said his Blind Audition was the scariest moment of his life. He knew he wanted Ballerini as his coach before he even hit the stage, and that’s how it turned out. Though he went home, Ballerini brought Johnston back with a Super Save. 

“It’s been a hell of a ride,” Johnston said. “I couldn’t be more thankful to Kelsea, my mom, my whole family. They’ve been with me throughout the whole process… I’m looking forward to delivering the best possible performance I can.”

“I better block Adam Levine, that’s what I heard,” Legend said of RENZO’s blind audition. He did just that and got the “superstar” on his team.

As for his plan for the finale, RENZO said, “I want to show people that I can also have fun, that I can move.” He plans to do just that by performing “Fly Away” by Lenny Kravitz. His coach was on board, telling him, “I think you got the swag to pull it off.”

RENZO’s package continued with the singer reflecting on how he went from living in a tent to being a finalist on The Voice.

“He deserves to win The Voice,” Legend said. “If he wins, that may be the greatest block of all time.”
