Although helming his own career in music, Vince Gill never shied away from collaborating with other stars. Over the years, he worked with Maren Morris, Kelly Clarkson, Patty Loveless, Brooks & Dunn, and his wife Amy Grant. He even landed a spot with the Eagles on tour and helped them with their residency at the Las Vegas Sphere. While always willing to contribute and help, he recently decided to shine the light back on his solo career when he announced a summer tour that celebrates his life on the road over the last 50 years.

With time flying by, Gill looked back at his career and the memories he made along the way. Wanting to celebrate his accomplishments in music, he announced a summer tour that came packed with more than 30 shows. Excited about the tour, he said, “I left home 50 years ago to try and become an accomplished musician and perform in front of whoever would show up. All these years later, it feels as special today as it ever did.”
Kicking off on May 8th in Rochester, New York, the tour will extend until August 16th when he takes the stage one last time at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Seeming like the perfect place to end the tour, Gill didn’t want to take the stage alone as he welcomed John Jarvis, Eddie Dunlap, Jeff White, Billy Thomas, and several others to the lineup.
For those not wanting to miss Gill in concert, tickets go on say Friday, February 21st. Fans can go to Gill’s website for more information.
The Number One Question Vince Gill Gets Asked
Outside of announcing his new tour, Gill once recalled the main question he got asked from fans. Known for his skills with a guitar, the musician was always asked who he thought the greatest guitarist was. Not caring for the question, Gill believed there couldn’t be just one. “I always say, ‘There’s no such thing.’ Why does anyone have to be the best? There’s a bunch of good players.”
Wanting to keep it simple, Gill only focused on the music, insisting, “It’s funny how guitar playing turns into a matter of outplaying each other. I don’t want to show anyone up. I like things simple. That’s how I live my life; that makes sense to me.”
