Along with performing an abbreviated set of her material, McPhee joined Green to sing the title track from his forthcoming album Don’t Mind if I Do. He originally released the song in September as a duet with Ella Langley. With her stunning voice, McPhee was a great replacement for Langley. Watch a snippet of their performance below.

Katharine McPhee Is No Stranger to Country Music

Katharine McPhee isn’t what one would call a country artist. Her sound leans more toward pop and R&B. However, in 2021, she started as a country singer named Bailey in the Netflix series Country Comfort. Because she played a country singer in the show, the role demanded that she sing country music.

It could be that she found a fondness for country music during the show. At the very least, she seems comfortable with it while singing with Riley Green on one of the most important stages in the genre.

Riley Green Is Counting the Days Until Don’t Mind If I Do Drops

Riley Green’s new album Don’t Mind If I Do drops this Friday (October 18). He talked about the album and its title in a recent social media post.

“This one’s got a lot of different types of songs on it. When you’ve got an album with ‘Jesus Saves’ and ‘Worst Way’ on it, it’s hard to pick a name for that album,” he said. “Don’t mind if I do is such a lighthearted phrase, how we use it in society. For me, I heard don’t mind if I do initially like a night out with the boys, I probably shouldn’t but I don’t mind if I do. I’ll have one. Then, I’ll have three or four. I didn’t write it that way but you kind of go either way when you hear that,” he added.
