Everyone’s been talking about Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s final live performance, which kicked off last Saturday. It was a very bittersweet affair, full of amazing music and broken hearts. An enormous crowd of fans watched one of the greatest metal bands of all time perform their very last show.

Country crooner Dolly Parton, who had a run-in with rock music of her own in recent years, had some sweet words for Ozzy Osbourne. During the Back To The Beginning finale performance, a video message from Parton played on the stage’s screens in between sets. Not-so-live in front of Villa Park in Birmingham, England, Parton had a few choice words for Black Sabbath and their legendary vocalist, Ozzy Osbourne.
Dolly Parton’s Heartfelt Words for Ozzy Osbourne: “We Will See You Somewhere Down the Road”
“I know you’re at home, and what a wonderful place to be, right?” Parton said in the farewell video. She was likely referencing the fact that Black Sabbath was first created in Birmingham decades ago. “Now, are we supposed to be saying farewell to you? Well, I don’t think that’s going to happen. How about we just say good luck, God bless you, and we will see you somewhere down the road.”
It might seem a bit odd that the country star behind hits like “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You” found her way onto the stage at Black Sabbath’s final show, albeit digitally. However, that actually isn’t such an unlikely thing. Parton has spent some time in the rock world. Just last month appeared in Mötley Crüe’s recent song, “Home Sweet Home”. The two music icons are expected to release a singles collection together, titled From The Beginning, in September.
“Anyway, I love you, always have,” Parton continued. “And we’re gonna miss you up on stage, but you know what? I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t show up somewhere else. And I’ll be there.”
Parton’s message was well-received by fans. In the end, Black Sabbath’s final concert was a massive success and was a fine send-off to one of the most legendary bands of the 20th century. They will definitely be missed by fans and, of course, Dolly Parton.
