Patrons at Garth Brooks‘ Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk, his Music City food and entertainment destination, got a big surprise on Thursday, March 20.
Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, showed up to serve as bartenders. The couple posted about their Lower Broadway jaunt on social media.
Before heading to the bar, the couple said they were at Friends in Low Places to celebrate its first anniversary. Friends In Low Places opened at 411 Broadway in Nashville on March 7, 2024.
“Here’s to one of 100,” Brooks said.
“I’m so excited,” Yearwood added.
“We’re going to go down and bartend,” Brooks said.
And they did.

The famous couple slapped fans’ hands and greeted them on the way behind the bar. They poured cocktails, handed out beers, dished up frozen drinks, and Brooks even led a rowdy “Friends In Low Places” sing-along.
Garth Brooks’ Bar is Known for Celebrity Bartenders
The outing isn’t Yearwood’s first pop-up behind the bar. Friends In Low Places is known for having surprise celebrity bartenders, and Yearwood once turned up with Shaq. Over the course of the last year, other celebrity bartenders have included Blake Horstmann of “Bachelorette” fame, actor Steve Lemme, actor Aaron Paul and “Breaking Bad” actor Bryan Cranston. Nashville Predators forward Steven Stamkos slung some drinks. Viral sensation The Montana Boyz were behind the bar along with NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick and singer Austin Mahone.
Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk’s anniversary celebration has spanned the month of March. The four-floor, 54,715-square-foot cowboy and cowgirl oasis has offered activities related to SEC basketball and St. Patrick’s Day, hosted comedy nights, a fireball challenge, and more.
“FRIENDS has taken on a life of its own,” Brooks told GarthBrooks.com. “The amount of merchandise business we do is crazy! It’s like people who meet me talk less about the music and more about the bar! Their two favorite things they mention are ALWAYS how good the food is and how great the bands who play there are.”
In addition, Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk boasts 50+ screens for game-day viewing, Trisha’s game-day menus, six bars, and coolers of beer. People who buy six get the seventh on Brooks.
Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk, located at 411 Broadway, is open from 11 a.m. – 2 a.m. Monday – Friday, and Saturday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 2 a.m. It is a cashless bar but accepts all major credit cards. The Honky-Tonk is for all ages every day until 8 p.m., but the rooftop The Oasis is always 21+.
