If you know anything about Jonny Fritz, you know his music: his country leanings, the touch of Grateful Dead. And if you’ve seen his video for “Goodbye Summer,” you also know that he can be pretty hilarious. In these short behind the scenes videos of recording his latest album Dad Country, Fritz displays his wit and ability to entertain, as well as his raw talent.

The footage was shot in Jackson Browne’s studio in Los Angeles, where Fritz recorded the followup to 2011’s critically acclaimed Down On The Bikini Line. Dad Country was co-produced by Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, who play on the album and appear in the videos.
Fritz will play the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival this week, followed by dates supporting Alabama Shakes and Old Crow Medicine Show. Videos and tour dates are below.
