Although known for his time in genres like pop and trap, Post Malone looked to expand his career past a single genre. Wanting to explore the entire music industry, the hitmaker released his debut country album in August with F-1 Trillion. While gaining high praise from fans, Malone dabbled in country music way before he entered the recording studio. Back in April, the singer received a warm welcome when he caught the spotlight at the famous Stagecoach festival. At the time, Malone took the stage to cover classic country hits. But not wanting to take up the entire stage, he welcomed Brad Paisley to help him perform Vince Gill’s famous hit “One More Last Chance.”

Before Paisley made his way out, Malone brought out another country legend Dwight Yoakam to help him sing “Little Ways.” Malone soaked in the performance as he considered Yoakam “one of the kindest” people in the “universe.” He shared how “honored” he was to share the stage with a singer like Yoakam. While gushing over the performance, fans couldn’t get enough of Malone collaborating with Paisley on the Vince Gill hit song.
“Brad is one of the best guitar players of all time,” one fan commented. “He smokes the strings.”
Post Malone Grew Up Listening To Brad Paisley
Before performing a string of songs for the crowd at Stagecoach, Paisley took a moment to gauge the crowd. He asked, “How’s he doing?” Wanting to make sure Malone was treating the crowd to a memorable set, the fans made their thoughts known, erupting into roars and cheers.
While working with some of the biggest stars in the music industry, Malone seemed starstruck to duet with Paisley. Discussing his influences as a child, the artist told Apple Music, “My Dad would wedding DJ and play DMX… He was killer too. He had to do actual records.” Malone continued, “He played everything so he would do… He just loved music. He loves Brad [Paisley] and Tim [McGraw]. And my Mom was super into the old Hank and George [Strait] and Conway [Twitty] and all that stuff, but my Dad liked a lot of the… So did my Mom, but the nineties stuff, and he loved rap and metal and everything, so it was just kind of a mishmash of music.”
Growing up listening to Paisley, it was only a matter of time before Malone found himself just feet away from his childhood influence.
