Which Country Star Will Perform at Lainey Wilson’s Wedding? The Answer Might Surprise You

While spending several years trying to break into country music, Lainey Wilson wasted not one second once that door opened. Completely taking over country music, the singer dazzled on stage and airwaves thanks to hits like “Heart Like A Truck” and “Watermelon Moonshine.” And if that wasn’t enough, she landed a role in the hit show Yellowstone. Tours, shows, and albums, Wilson seemed unstoppable. If that wasn’t enough, her personal life also expanded when she got engaged to former NFL quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges. With the couple planning their wedding, Wilson revealed who she thought would cry first.

For any father, the thought of walking their daughter down the aisle can easily break the strongest of men. When speaking to Taste of Country Nights, Wilson shared some insight into the wedding and what she was planning. Wanting the moment to be memorable, she opened up about if her father might cry. But according to Wilson, “I ain’t seen that man cry once in my whole life.”

Although not easily shaken, again – the memories that flood parents when watching their child get married is the perfect combination of love and sadness. Remembering their first steps, their first words – their first everything. Still, Wilson was sure her dad would remain steadfast.

When it came to Duck, Wilson suggested that he was going to be a mess when those doors opened. Not diving into her personal relationship with Duck, she was positive the day would break out some tears. As for herself, she wouldn’t confirm but noted she might shed a tear or two.

Outside of the special moment, the reception was also a topic of discussion. Given her status in country music, it made perfect sense she would go with singers from the genre. But who? Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen, Reba McEntire? Well, none of them.

Apparently, Wilson doesn’t want to have country music at her wedding. Somewhat understandable since her whole life is country. Instead, the singer will explore the genre of jazz.

Still ironing out the details, Wilson seemed excited, happy, and ready to open a different chapter in her life with Duck.
