Canadian folk songstress Ruth Moody is known for her exceptional songwriting, but her cover of Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” highlights her talents as a musician and interpreter of other people’s songs.
“I’ve been a Springsteen fan for a long time. It was fun to take one of his biggest hits and folkify it,” Moody says.
The singer and her band filmed a live version of Moody’s interpretation of the classic track, which adds an additional touch of rawness to the cover. “We were really happy with the arrangement and felt like it would make a great live video – something that focused on the performance, the instruments, and the strength of the lyrics in this new context.”
