Howard Stern is a noted enthusiast of all things loud, obnoxious, and raunchy (or awesome depending on your age and maturity level). Now he is taking his love of the lewd to the big screen for the first time sense 1997’s autobiographicalPrivate Parts by remaking the cult classic Rock ‘n’ Roll High School.

The original film, released in 1979, featured punk band The Ramones inspiring a coup d’état against a totalitarian (and of course anti-rock and roll) high school principal.

But who could Stern recruit to rewrite what was already so well-crafted? How about Alex Winter; better known as Keanu Reeves’ sidekick Bill S. Preston, Esq. in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey. While his monumental performance as Bill may have been enough to merit the position of writer for the remake, Winter has actually written and directed music videos, commercials, and a show for the Cartoon Network called Ben 10: Race Against Time. He has also scripted a movie documenting the life of Napster creator Shawn Fanning for MTV Films (Excellent!).

The release date for this rockin’ remake has yet to be announced, but it should be a while as the shock jock king is balancing his time between two Sirius Satellite Radio channels and production on a remake of Porky’s. Classy.
