ABOUT THE BOOK:

Bob Dylan In America, the new book by Sean Wilentz (‘historian-in-residence’ for Dylan’s official site www.bobdylan.com), offers unprecedented access to Dylan’s working tapes, recording notes, rare photographs and other key materials. Wilentz has written a comprehensive account of Dylan’s life and music and its influence on American culture.

Beginning with his explosion onto the scene in 1961, Bob Dylan In America follows Dylan as he continues to develop a body of musical and literary work unique in our cultural history. Wilentz tells Dylan’s story and that of such masterpieces as Blonde On Blonde with an unprecedented authenticity and richness.

The Original Mono Recordings is comprised of Bob Dylan’s first eight long-playing albums, painstakingly reproduced from their first generation monaural mixes as the artist intended them to be heard. These eight albums – spanning the artist’s self-titled debut in March 1962, through John Wesley Harding released on December 27, 1967 – are universally regarded as some of the most important works in the history of recorded music.
