Neil Young is bringing back the long-form music video.
The trailblazing classic rocker debuted the video today for “Ramada Inn,” a minor-chord meditation on love, family and the passage of time, with plenty of guitar solos thrown in for good measure. The song appears on Young’s upcoming double-album with Crazy Horse, Psychedelic Pill(out 10/30).
The 17-minute video features vintage film clips and kaleidoscopic imagery. For contrast, Micheal Jackson’s “Thriller” video clocks in at thirteen minutes.
“So many years now together/ all those good times, ups and downs/ so many joys raising up those kids/ they moved on now, out of town,” sings Young.
