1. “Vacation” by Thomas Rhett
What better song to add to a playlist of hit country summer songs to celebrate the end of everybody’s favorite season than a song about vacations? This Thomas Rhett hit from the 2015 album Tangled Up is the perfect country summer tune to listen to on the last few days of summer vacation. And if you don’t have time for vacation before summer officially ends, this song might just make you want to plan next year’s excursion.
2. “Somewhere On A Beach” by Dierks Bentley
“Somewhere On A Beach” comes from Dierks Bentley’s 2016 album Black. He definitely knew what he was doing with this track; who doesn’t want to be somewhere on a beach during summer? This tune is a great reminder to pack your sunscreen and hit the waves.
3. “Sunshine And Summertime” by Faith Hill
This classic 2005 song from Faith Hill’s album Fireflies is quite literally the definitive summertime celebration country song. It’s also a great throwback to the early days of country-pop music. Nobody did it quite like Faith Hill in the early aughts.
4. “Summer Fever” by Little Big Town
Little Big Town has penned a few great songs that are perfect for a country summertime playlist, from “Pontoon” to “Day Drinking”. However, this 2018 song from the album of the same name is a bit more direct with its summertime references.

5. “Summertime Blues” by Alan Jackson
“Summertime Blues” is another great throwback song, this time from country icon Alan Jackson. This 1994 track from Who I Am marks a time in country music when everything was all about having fun, fooling around, driving trucks, and cracking open a cold one. “Summertime Blues” also happened to be a no. 1 hit for Jackson, too.
6. “Margaritaville” by Jimmy Buffett
If you scoffed when you saw the title of this entry, it’s worth noting that there is a lot of discourse over whether or not “Margaritaville” is a country rock or tropical rock song. Fans are still duking it out online. Still, nothing says “summer” quite like Jimmy Buffett’s biggest hit. Listening to this 1977 classic is a great way to bid farewell to the warmth of summer, margarita in hand.
