In light of new country music stars such as Shaboozey, Post Malone, and Megan Moroney, some people might be missing the good old days. Specifically, they might be missing the ‘2000s, when country music was ruled by acts such as Miranda Lambert, Lady A, and Dierks Bentley.

Even though many of the staple country musicians of the ‘2000s have been releasing new music, there have been a few lurking in the shadows for quite some time. That being so, here are three ‘2000s country musicians who are due for a major comeback in 2025.
Rascal Flatts
Rascal Flatts dominated the country music airwaves in the ‘2000s, but as their prominence has diminished, so has their output. For a bit of context, in their heyday, Flatts garnered 12 No. 1 hits, seven CMA Awards, and a Grammy. Some of the songs that made their ‘2000s stint so successful were “Life Is A Highway” and “Bless The Broken Road.”
The last time Flatts released new music was in 2020 with their single, “How They Remember You.” About a year later, the band separated and lead singer, Gary LeVox, went solo. However, as of October, the band has reunited and we should anticipate some new music in the near future.
The Chicks
The Chicks are arguably the premier female vocal group of 21st-century country music, and their highly successful ‘2000s career is the reason for the unofficial title. In the ‘2000s, The Chicks received notoriety for their songs “Goodbye Earl” and “Cowboy Take Me Away.” Furthermore, they have also scored six No. 1 hits and won 13 Grammys. However, they have been on a bit of a dry spell recently.
The Chicks’ last album, Gaslighter, was released in July of 2020. Since then they have not released any new music, but have been touring. As of now, there are no clues as to when The Chicks will release new music. So, all we can do is hope, as their return would mean to the world to many country music fans.
Big & Rich
Big & Rich have always been a bit glamorous and ornate, however, that was and still is a large part of their appeal. Frankly, it is partially what helped them garner so many eyeballs in the ‘2000s. Additionally, their songs “Save A Horse(Ride A Cowboy)” and “Lost In This Moment,” also helped them immensely.
Even though Big & Rich were the talk of the town in the ‘2000s, their career has slowed down to a manageable pace. The last time the duo released new music was in 2017 with their album, Did It for the Party. However, in 2024 they have been touring with Kid Rock and Gretchen Wilson. Seeing that they still have gas in the tank, their fans are seemingly wondering if they will release new music sometime soon.
