Country Singer Colt Ford Shares Heartbreaking News One Year After Near-Death Experience

Just last April, Colt Ford walked on stage for what seemed like just another performance. But not long after, the country singer found himself fighting for his life when he technically passed away twice. Thankfully, medical personnel were able to revive the singer both times. Spending some time focusing on his health and staying positive about the future, Ford recently announced that his father sadly passed away at 89 years old.

Although keeping fans updated about his health journey and hopes of getting back to the stage, last week, Ford turned his attention to his father. Asking for their support, the singer shared a recent update that his father passed away. Posting a video on Twitter, the singer admitted, “This video was hard to make. It was a blessing to have my dad for 89 … he was 89 years old. He got to see me play in Athens with Brantley and that made him so happy. I’m so grateful for all the prayers, but last night he went home to be with the Lord, and I’m at peace with it.”

Surrounding by those he loved, Ford noted how his father passed away gracefully with his wife holding his hand. “Thank y’all for all your prayers and wishes. He passed away right there in his house that he loved with my mama on one hand, married 62 years, and my son, Reynolds, on the other hand. His grandson that he thought hung the moon, and he just eased off.”

For one person who knew Ford and his father, they recounted listening to them talk about cars. “The amount of love you had for him was so apparent every time I’d see you guys at the restaurant.
