Fans across the country started their day with two new versions of the song on YouTube and one new rendition on digital streaming platforms. The video posted above is a live acoustic recording of the song featuring a crackling bonfire and the addition of an organ. It only appeared on YouTube. The other is a studio recording of the same acoustic and organ pairing, which is also available across streaming platforms.

Childers also took to social media to announce the new album. Snipe Hunter will hit record stores and streaming platforms on July 25. It will feature 13 tracks, but the Kentucky native hasn’t shared the complete tracklist yet.

What Could Be on the New Tyler Childers Album?

Tyler Childers is a prolific songwriter. As a result, he has enough well-known unreleased songs to fill up an album. Some are speculating that’s what he plans to do with Snipe Hunter. After all, he has already shared one popular song that never made it to a studio album and hinted at others in yesterday’s teaser clip.

Currently, fans are expecting to hear “Oneida” and “Jersey Giant” on the new album. The latter was mentioned by name in the cryptic teaser. At the same time, Childers has started adding the latter into his setlists after not performing it for years. One could also assume that another hidden gem, “Snipe Hunt,” will appear on the album.

Other fan favorites like “Charleston Girl,” “Shake the Frost,” and “Follow You to Virgie” are all perfect candidates for Snipe Hunter. The songs are favorites among fans and are staples of Childers’ concerts, but have never appeared on a studio album. Versions of the trio of songs appear on his 2018 release, Live on Red Barn Radio I & II.
