Watch Lainey Wilson Give Duet Partner “Face Tats” on Stage, Sing Jelly Roll’s “Save Me”

With Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson climbing the ranks of country music over the last few years, the two singers also shared more than their love for the genre. After recording the hit song “Save Me” in 2020, Jelly Roll teamed up with Wilson for a remix that hit the airwaves in 2023. The pair also performed the song during the season 21 finale of American Idol. While a hit song for Jelly Roll, Wilson recently found herself performing the song not with him but with Drew Baldridge. And although Baldridge brought the vocals, Wilson decided to give him a quick face tattoo to add that signature Jelly Roll look.

Outside of his discography and generosity, most know about Jelly Roll’s love for tattoos. There are a few places in his body that aren’t covered in ink. But when Baldridge stood on the stage at the Hoofbeat Music Festival in Wisconsin, Wilson believed there was something missing. As they performed, the singer insisted, “You look a lot like Jelly Roll. We just need to draw you a little teardrop right here.”

Lainey Wilson Only Needed A Marker To Turn Drew Baldridge Into Jelly Roll

Although Baldridge thought Wilson was only joking, he soon watched as she looked around for a marker. “Do you have a permanent marker? Hold up, I’ve got a permanent marker.”

Following through with her suggestion, Wilson used the marker to give Baldridge a small teardrop on his face. Embracing the persona of Jelly Roll, she admitted, “I’m gonna turn around and think, ‘Jelly Roll, is that you?’”

Already gaining thousands of likes, fans enjoyed the hilarious moment between Wilson and Baldridge. “This was the best!! Loved it! Great show in Cadott Wi!!” Other comments included, “Y’all two have been grinding for so long, congrats to you both!  We need the collab soon!!!!!”

Outside of performing with Baldridge, Wilson will take the stage at a few more festivals over the summer before kicking off her Whirlwind World Tour. Looking at her schedule, the country star booked performances throughout the rest of the year, with her ending in Las Vegas on December 7th.
