‘American Idol’ Winner Set To Open for Megan Moroney in Knoxville

Nearly one year has passed since Emmy Russell captivated American Idol viewers. Stepping out of her famous family’s shadow, the granddaughter of late country music legend Loretta Lynn bared her heart and soul each week on season 22 of the ABC singing reality competition show. Falling just short of the top five, Russell has gone on to release multiple original songs since wrapping up her time on Idol. The “Redemption” songstress, 26, recently celebrated another milestone when she became a first-time mom. Less than two weeks after welcoming her daughter, Russell had even more exciting news to share. The “Skinny” singer will open for country star Megan Moroney during the latter’s Am I Okay? Tour.
