In light of the ongoing Los Angeles Wildfires, people and celebrities have been admirably stepping up to do their part. That being so, Beyoncé recently did the same, donating a generous sum of money to the LA Fire Relief Fund.

On Sunday, January 12, Beyoncé’s charity, the BeyGOOD Foundation took to Instagram to announce the donation. The singer and her charity declared the $2.5 million donation to the LA Fire Relief Fund in the post. The post stated, “Los Angeles we stand with you” and “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars.”
“The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,” the post continued. In the closing remarks, Beyoncé motivated people to help by writing, “Show your support for the impacted families.”
Since the charity’s inception in 2013, Beyoncé and her team have completed service in Haiti, Flint, Michigan, Houston, South Africa, and Florida. Hopefully, her most recent charitable endeavor will replicate the results of her previous ones.
Beyoncé & Company’s Generous Contributions
Beyoncé is not the only powerful individual to aid the ongoing natural disaster. In addition to Beyoncé, other celebrities who have donated to the cause include, Jamie Lee Curtis, Paris Hilton, Jennifer Gardner, Halle Berry, Prince Harry, and numerous others.
Larger organizations to donate to the ongoing relief fund are Disney, Paramount, Walmart, and the NFL. Notably, Disney donated $15 million for initial and immediate response and rebuilding efforts. Despite the charitable acts performed by powerful entities, the fires continue to ravage the city of LA. As of today, 12,000 houses have burned, 24 people have passed, and approximately 150,000 people were warned and ordered to evacuate per CalMatters.
