Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, And Geezer Butler Remember Legacy Of Ozzy Osbourne
Outside of Black Sabbath’s post, the original members of the band, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, all shared individual messages about Ozzy. For Butler, it was still a shock just how much a group of kids from Aston could accomplish. “Goodbye dear friend- thanks for all those years- we had some great fun. 4 kids from Aston- who’d have thought, eh? So glad we got to do it one last time, back in Aston.”
Helping organize the Back to the Beginning concert, Iommi shared a throwback image of Ozzy, writing, “I just can’t believe it! My dear dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park. It’s just such heartbreaking news that I can’t really find the words, there won’t ever be another like him. Geezer, Bill and myself have lost our brother.”
While Iommi struggled to process the news, he couldn’t help but think of the singer’s family. “My thoughts go out to Sharon and all the Osbourne family. Rest in peace Oz. Tony”
For Ward, he also posted a vintage picture of himself alongside Ozzy. Showing the years they spent together, the drummer didn’t see it as a goodbye. “Where will I find you now? In the memories, our unspoken embraces, our missed phone calls, no, you’re forever in my heart. Deepest condolences to Sharon and all family members. RIP Sincere regrets to all the fans. Never goodbye. Thank you forever. Bill Ward.”
With Ozzy’s family asking for privacy during the difficult time, his love for heavy metal and the music he created with Black Sabbath will continue to inspire and entertain generations to come.
