Camila Cabello Lends Her Voice to Spotify and Calm App’s Partnership

Camila Cabello is putting an emphasis on mental health. The “Havana” hitmaker is among the artists whose partaking in Spotify and Calm’s new partnership that offers positive mental health content. In her podcast series, Breathe Into It, Cabello offers 13 episodes that she writes and narrates focusing on topics including meditation, challenging own’s inner critic, following one’s instincts and expressing gratitude.

In the first episode, Cabello discusses the practice of mediation which she says has, “Changed everything for me.” “It’s a daily practice that has helped me become more peaceful and present. It’s helped me work through anxiety, and it’s just kind of making me a better person,” she says in the episode titled, “Breathe Into It: Before and After.”

Describing it as “super practical,” Cabello says that meditation is a “skillset” that helps “navigate” the human experience. “It’s almost like a training program to become more self-aware, to regulate intense emotions,” she continues, adding that she meditates daily and credits the meditation app Calm for being a “huge support to me.”

Through Calm’s new partnership with Spotify, people will be able to access various types of meditative content. “Mental health is more important than ever,” Calm Vice President of Partnerships Fergal Walker said in a press statement. “It’s our mission to make mental health content accessible to as many people as possible. As part of that it makes sense to partner with Spotify, the top streaming platform, to provide their users access to tools that help them prioritize mental well-being and to feel better.

“People are not feeling any less stressed now that the pandemic has passed,” Walker continues. “One in two people in the United States experience anxiousness, stress or have a difficult time falling asleep. As a result, there’s more demand than ever for virtual meditation. We are connecting with consumers by meeting them where they are, such as [on] Spotify.”
