While critics considered Chappell Roan to be “campy”, the singer proved herself a unique voice in the music industry. Embracing the style of drag queens, Roan released hit songs like “Pink Pony Club” and “Good Luck, Babe.” She also performed at numerous festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and the Governors Ball. Climbing the ranks and the charts, Roan recently shared what she called an “Easter Egg” with fans that left many wondering if the star was working on a new country album.

With the Billboard Music Awards celebrating the year’s top artists and songs, Roan decided to jump on Instagram and share a throwback picture of herself as a child. In the picture, the singer stood beside an opossum. Roan captioned the post, writing, “This may or may not be an easter egg.” While the singer didn’t give away more details, the picture sent fans into a frenzy as internet detectives sought to uncover the post’s secrets.
Looking at what fans had to say about the post, comments included, “New album out on groundhog day?” Another person wondered, “Can’t wait for the bedazzled cowboy possum plushies.” And one comment read, “Opossum themed country album yup yup.”

Chappell Roan Already Working On New Album
Gaining over 800,000 likes, fans continued to discuss and debate the post. The idea of a new album from Roan isn’t far off as she once discussed the future with Rolling Stone. She told the publication, “We have a country song. We have a dancy song. We have one that’s really Eighties, and we have one that’s acoustic, and we have one that’s really organic, live-band, Seventies vibe. It’s super weird.”
Wanting to keep expanding her stardom in the music, Roan insisted, “(The next single) needs to have more grit, whether that means more pop grit or rock grit or just bite to the lyrics. Anything that I listen to—Joan Jett, Heart, Gaga—I want to feel like them. So I’ll just be inspired by that feeling and how I can capture it.”
Just a few weeks ago Roan appeared on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest and debuted her country song “The Giver.” And just last night, the star won big at the Billboard Music Awards when she won the Top New Artist Award.
