While Chris Stapleton has been in Australia, he’s admirably shut down Aussie fans on two separate occasions. The first way in which he did so is by refusing to do a “shoey,” which is a drinking tradition and rite of passage in Australia. Second, and most recently, Chris Stapleton shut down an audience member at his concert after they screamed, “F*** Beyoncé.”

During his most recent show in Melbourne, Australia, Stapleton put on an acoustic set, and in between songs, an unknown fan screamed the words stated previously. Stapleton, in his typical laid-back fashion, chuckled and then simply replied, “What? I don’t think so.”
The general audience let out a couple of groans and moans, but the show went on as planned, and Chris Stapleton gave the people exactly what they paid for. Frankly, Chris Stapleton would never stoop to that level, as he is unarguably one of the classiest and most stand-up musicians in the music business. So, he’d never do such a thing and reply in a crassly rude manner.
Chris Stapleton Fans’ “Feud” With Beyoncé
This comment seemingly stems from this year’s Grammy awards when Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter beat Stapleton’s Higher for Best Country Album of the Year. Following the decision, Stapleton’s disciples flocked to social media to criticize and badger the Grammys’ decision.
One X user wrote, “Beyoncé over … Chris Stapleton? This is some big Hollyweirdos and woke b—. No disrespect towards Beyoncé or her music, but who’d they pay off for this one? Lainey Wilson and Chris Stapleton are what actual country fans listen to.” Another X user added, “Beyoncé winning Best Country Music Album instead of Chris Stapleton is a joke the Grammy’s ever done.”
One could say this type of chat is seemingly below Stapleton. After all, the man is as humble as they come and seemingly respects any musician who is courageous enough to put their music and soul on the line. Also, award or not, Stapleton knows his game and stays in his lane, and consequently, he focuses on the music and only the music. Which is an absolute delight for us fans.
