While performing in front of thousands of screaming fans continues to be the dream of countless aspiring singers, it comes with a hefty price. Not only do singers spend months on the road, moving from city to city, but such a rigorous schedule leaves little time for family. And showing how much a career on the stage can do, Tim McGraw needed to take a year off after having knee and back surgeries. Returning to the stage back in May, the country star recently shared a post showing him sporting a cane after canceling yet another performance.

On July 21st, McGraw was expected to take the stage at the Professional Bull Riders Last Cowboy Standing event. While preparing for the performance, the country singer quickly learned his body might not be ready. Having to cancel the performance, the organizers turned to the country group Cross Canadian Ragweed to cover for McGraw.
With fans concerned about McGraw and his future on the stage, the singer offered somewhat of an update when he posted a picture of himself alongside his wife, Faith Hill. He captioned the post, writing, “Hanging with my baby in Copenhagen to see (Audrey McGraw) on tour with the fabulous (Brandi Carlisle).”

Tim McGraw’s Time On Stage Could Come To An End
There to see their daughter perform, fans quickly noticed that McGraw was holding a cane while the two sat at the table. Not giving any information about upcoming performances, the country star remained focused on taking time to let his body heal.
Having spoken about his health issues over the years, McGraw offered some insight when appearing on the Tracy Lawrence’s Road House podcast. He said, “To have almost a year of just sitting there (doing nothing), and I can tell you that after double knee replacements and three back surgeries and now a torn rotator cuff and a ruptured disc, there were times this year that I thought this might be it.”
While McGraw didn’t know what the future held, he admitted, “It’s gonna come to a point to where I’m either gonna have to decide to change the way I do a live show to continue to do it or just not do it anymore.”
With the country singer enjoying time with his family, fans continued to support his recovery and hoped to see him return to the stage in the future.
