“If you know my story, I lost my sister April 19 of 2020. My sister meant the world to me. She was my best friend,” he said of his late sibling Leanna. “I miss her everyday, man, but I can tell you the last five years, I’ve seen her many a time… She’s always around.”

King tried to continue his speech by stating, but abruptly cut himself off when certain audience members pushed him too far.

“Shut up,” he scolded. “I ain’t playing a damn Haggard song. Give me a second. I’m talking about my sister, man. Give me a second. Be respectful please.”

As for why King mentioned Merle Haggard, Primetime Country Music, who posted a video of the exchange on TikTok, explained, “They were yelling out requests for Merle Haggard songs during Randall’s tribute to his sister who passed away.”

As the crowd quieted at King’s request, he continued on, stating, “I’m a firm believer that the spiritual realm is amongst us. There’s a fifth and a sixth dimension.”

Randall King Speaks Out About His Sister’s Death

Back in 2020, in a Facebook post announcing his sister’s death, King wrote about his relationship with her.

“She was my big sis, my partner in crime, my teammate when we went to pickin on dad and mom,” he wrote in part. “She was there for me in my hardest times and some of my darkest times. She was the brightest light I’ve ever seen in this world.”

“I am so grateful that I got to have her in my life, I’m grateful for all the time that I’ve had with her, all the memories, all the love she has for me, everything that we got to do together, everything she did for me, for the light she shone in this world, and the light that she left us,” he added. “It will still shine bright through everyone she touched and saved.”

King and his fiancée, Brittany Warthan, welcomed their first child in April. They decided to name their daughter Paisley Leanna in honor of his late sister.

“It’s only fitting to give her my sister’s name on the 5th year of Leanna’s passing,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “She has the same big bright spirit, I can already tell.”
