“He Doesn’t Want To Talk to Me. I Tried”: The Country Singer Tyler Childers Doesn’t Want To Talk To

While releasing his own albums with Locals Only and Flower Shops (The Album), Ernest first explored a career in country music as a songwriter. With a passion for words and music, the singer worked with singers like Thomas Rhett, Chris Lane, Jake Owens, Florida Georgia Line, and even Jelly Roll. Having rubbed shoulders with some top names in country music, he also performed alongside Morgan Wallen and Willie Nelson. Quickly making a name for himself in the genre, it appeared that Ernest couldn’t get a chance to speak with Tyler Childers.

Sitting down with Jelly Roll on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, the singer discussed several topics including the Grand Ole Opry, Jelly Roll’s weight loss, and how country music changed over the years. Spending hours talking, the hosts Taylor Lewan and Will Compton wanted to know more about Ernest when the singer opened up about Childers not wanting to speak with him.

When recalling his work with Snoop Dogg, Ernest surprisingly revealed how Childers wouldn’t speak with him as Jelly Roll insisted, “Think about how many hits Ernest has wrote though. Who doesn’t want to talk to Ernest? What artist on Earth doesn’t want to talk to Ernest?”

Catching the hosts off guard when naming Childers, Ernest added, “Can confirm that he doesn’t want to talk to me. I tried.”

Jelly Roll Hopes To Get Ernest And Tyler Childers Together

Trying to keep the conversation going, Jelly Roll hoped to get the two singers together. Knowing both, he said, “You never know dude, Tyler’s alright, we’ll see if we can get him on the phone. He was nice to me. I like him a lot.”

Wanting to know more about the past between the two, Ernest sensed a trap and decided to stay silent on the matter. He ended the topic, noting, “No we’re not even going into that. Tyler, I love your music. I shook your hand. It’s all good.”

Not pressing the issue, the group went on to praise Childers and his hit songs like “Feathered Indians.” As for fans, they wanted to know exactly what happened with Ernest and Childers. But with Ernest not giving any details, the answer might never come to light.
