Between her first-ever headlining arena tour and The Voice coaching debut, Kelsea Ballerini has plenty of opportunities to expand her fanbase these days. Her sharp storytelling skills and infectious country-pop hooks appeal to music lovers of all ages. The “Dibs” singer recently received resounding proof of that when she met her biggest (smallest) fan on the set of The Voice.

Team Kelsea Ballerini Lands Another Country Artist on ‘The Voice’
Kelsea Ballerini needed only a few seconds to turn her big red chair for Robert Hunter’s powerful Blind Audition of Cody Johnson’s “‘Til You Can’t” on season 27 of The Voice.
“Out of my way, out of my way,” the “Cowboys Cry Too” songstress, 31, warned fellow coaches Michael Bublé, John Legend, and Adam Levine.
However, Bublé quickly defied the first-time coach, saying, “There’s the voice,” before smashing his button.
Then it was over, and the 33-year old sheriff’s deputy from Garner, North Carolina, had a choice to make. “I am looking for storytellers, writers, artists, and the way that you told the story is what really interests me,” Ballerini told The Voice hopeful.
She continued, “I’m new here, but I’m also now, and I’m also now in country. I’d really love to work with you, and so I’m going to bring out the big guns.” (The big guns were a pair of cowboy boots.)
Bublé did his best, even affecting a decent country accent. However, he was no match for what came next.
Robert Hunter’s Daughter Chooses His Coach
As Hunter’s wife and young daughter joined him onstage during The Voice, the little girl revealed her favorite singer: “Kelsea Ballerini.”
“Did she say Michael Bublé?” the Canadian jazz-pop crooner asked. But unfortunately, that was it for him, as Hunter’s daughter told the crowd her favorite song: “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)” off Ballerini’s 2022 album Subject to Change.
The “Sorry Mom” hitmaker sprinted onstage, cowboy boots in hand. “I have to hug your daughter,’ she said, and then did.
In the spirit of full disclosure, Hunter’s adorable daughter actually said her favorite singer was “Kelsea Ballerina.” But it’s all good, as Ballerini has agreed to officially change her name.
“She could’ve said ‘broccoli,’ and I would’ve gone by ‘broccoli,’” the four-time CMT Awards host said.
