Blake Shelton is getting candid about one major regret. During a chat with CMT, the country star expressed regret over his sole tattoo.

“They say tattoos are addictive,” Shelton said. “I got this tattoo about 20 years ago. I decided it was—in the moment—one of the worst mistakes of my life.”
At that very moment Shelton said that he decided “I’m never doing that again.”
“I stuck to that,” he said with a laugh.
Blake Shelton Has a History of Poking Fun at Himself
It’s not the first time Blake Shelton has poked fun at his own tattoo. When Oprah Winfrey visited the set of The Voice in 2013, she sat down with Shelton and his then-co-worker, Adam Levine, to find out the meaning of their ink.
“It doesn’t mean crap, Oprah,” Shelton confessed of his tattoo.
Levine went on to joke that Shelton’s ink features ladybugs and barbed wire.
“It’s not ladybugs. You shut up,” Shelton told Levine, before explaining what prompted him to get the tattoo in the first place.
“I’m a country guy. I thought, ‘I’ll get some deer tracks going around my arm. A band of them,’” Shelton said while Levine laughed.
Shelton went on to confess that neither he nor the tattoo artist were sober when he sat down to get the ink.
“He didn’t know how to make a deer track and I didn’t either,” Shelton said. “I drew him one, what I thought it looked like. He just took that and copied it [onto my arm].”
As for the barbed wire, Shelton explained, “I went and got the barbed wire later to try to distract from the Sugar Smacks or coffee beans that I ended up with.”
Speaking of Levine, Shelton’s “frenemy” is set to return to The Voice this season, with the first episode set to premiere on February 3. While Levine is answering fans’ call to return to his big red chair, those same fans are still holding out hope that Shelton will rejoin the Maroon 5 star in a future season.
