Lainey Wilson Is Thankful for Country Newcomers, Talks Genre Impact of Post Malone and Beyoncé

It is without question that country music is currently in one of its most divisive and polarizing times. This is of course thanks to the introduction of Post Malone and Beyoncé, and their hit albums F-1 Trillion and Cowboy Carter. If you are one of the folks who detest country music’s new transition, it’s time to either get out and get in, as one of country music’s biggest acts has endorsed the transition with great praise. That act is none other than Lainey Wilson.

In a recent interview with NME, Wilson covered and recalled every great experience she had in 2024. Per her comments, one of those great experiences included her collaboration with Post Malone on their single, “Nosedive.” That being so, the Louisiana native had nothing but kind words to say about country music’s newest additions.

Lainey Wilson Sees The Positive Benefits

Regarding the addition of the two artists and the changing of the tides, Wilson articulated the booming growth these two artists have incited. She told the publication, “So many people are finding out that they love country music who didn’t know they liked it at all.” “Artists like Post and Beyoncé are introducing their audiences to this kind of music, and it’s only done good things for the genre. It’s cool to see,” she added.

In short, Wilson says that she is “Proud” of this musical diversification, as it not only helps her business but everybody else in her similar position. Furthermore, Post Malone’s entry into country music didn’t only help the reasons Wilson divulged. Thanks to his immersion into the space, Lainey Wilson also made a new friend.

Recently, Wilson appeared on the Artist Friendly with Joel Madden podcast and discussed her collaboration with Malone. She said, “I loved every second of it, and I love him. We’ve become great friends” and “What I noticed about him is, even the people who are coming into the studio and taking the trash out and whatever, like, he treated them just like he treated the guy that was running the soundboard.”

So between the newfound mass marketability of country music and the newly kindled relationships, it seems Lainey Wilson is loving the genre’s fresh meat.
