On September 7, joined by supporting acts GloRilla, Rylo Rodriguez, and more, Lil Baby performed the 17th show of his It’s Only Us Tour in Memphis, Tennessee. However, 30 minutes into Baby’s headlining set, gunshots went off in the lower deck of the FedEx Forum arena.
The crowd would soon go into a frenzy, and Baby was escorted off the stage. Along with the concert being canceled, authorities would rush to the scene to tend to one attendee who sustained a bullet wound. Memphis Police Department would release a statement on Facebook soon after addressing the incident, as they believed the shooting was planned.

“Based on our preliminary investigation, the shooting is believed to have been premeditated and the victim targeted,” MPD wrote. “There were no other injuries resulting from this senseless act, where thousands of concertgoers were in attendance. The FedExForum contracts with a private security company that screens patrons for weapons. It is unknown, at this time, how the suspect was able to circumvent the security screening process.”
The name of the victim has yet to be released, though we do know that it was an adult male. He was transported to nearby Regional One Health Hospital after the shooting, and he is currently in critical condition. The assailant is still at large, according to police.
Following the chaos, local CBS affiliate WREG spoke with one of the It’s Only Us attendees Clarissa Johnson, as she described the scene when the shots were heard.
โI heard a pop,โ she said. โIโm not sure what happened but I had a suite, so I told all my crew, โget down.โ So we evacuated. Once we evacuated, did a head count. Iโm still not sure what happened. Itโs not so sweet tonight, though.โ

The next day (September 8), Baby took to Twitter to let his Memphis fans know that they would receive refunds for the show.
“Unfortunately I Couldnโt Perform Last Night In Memphis, I’ma Make Sure Everybody Gets A Refund [Though],” he tweeted.
