Morgan Wallen Just Accomplished Something No Other Artist Has in 2025 (Regardless of Genre)

While artists love making headlines, Morgan Wallen appeared to do whatever it took to stay out of the spotlight. After his legal troubles when throwing a chair from the rooftop of a bar, the country singer seemed to keep his personal life away from the public. But Wallen once again found himself at the center of controversy when he left the Saturday Night Live stage before the cameras cut. With Wallen a hot topic, the country star recently made headlines once again, but thankfully, this time, it had to do with his newest release, I’m the Problem.

Released on May 16, fans rushed to either get a copy of Wallen’s newest album or at least stream it. Looking at the numbers presented by Luminate, the singer landed the biggest debut week of any album in 2025 with 493,000 units earned. For those wondering, the title was held by the Weeknd for Hurry Up Tomorrow. The Weeknd received 490,000 units earned.

While sitting on top once again, Wallen also dominated streaming as well. Returning to the numbers, I’m the Problem gained 462.63 million official streams. The only album to gain more stream in recent memory happened last year when Taylor Swift released The Tortured Poets Department. Blowing away the competition and showing the power of her stardom, the hitmaker gained 891.37 million streams in a single week.

Morgan Wallen Gains Three Million Views Thanks To “I’m The Problem”

Thankfully, Wallen didn’t have to compete against Swift. But with I’m the Problem taking over streaming platforms and the radio, the singer continued to expand his stardom. Already a top name in country music, Wallen seemed to get bigger with each new release. And mix that with his ability to make headlines, the country star is quickly rising to the top.

Outside of the numbers, fans showed how Wallen took over the charts thanks to the song “I’m the Problem.” Releasing a performance of the song, it quickly climbed over three million views. As for the comments, they included:

“I love him so much. I’ve haven’t ever seen one person with as much talent. Fan for life. He is on my bucket list. I want go see Morgan.”

“This song isn’t just lyrics…it’s accountability, regret and heartbreak wrapped in one. Sometimes admitting you’re the problem is the hardest kind of love there is.”

“His voice is so powerful and beautiful. My favorite voice ever!! He is amazing! Love Morgan and his beautiful soul.”

“I have loved all Morgan Wallen’s songs so much. They all remind me of my country hating best friend and guy I have always loved more than anyone.  As if they were written for us!”

Although not the best when it comes to dealing with the press, Wallen decided to let his music do the talking for him. And apparently, that was more than enough.
