Ne-Yo Mourns the Passing of Championship Boxer Paul Bamba, Dead at 35

On December 21, 2024, boxer Paul Bamba stepped into the ring to fight Rogelio Medina for the WBA Gold cruiserweight. During his time in the spotlight, Bamba offered an impressive record that came with 19 wins and 18 knockouts. And while Medina put up a good fight, Bamba watched his career expand as he won the championship. Sadly, just a few days after his victory, the boxer passed away at 35 years old.

While still having a promising career ahead of him, on December 27th, news released that Bamba passed away. While mourning the death of the boxer and his friend, Bamba’s manager, Ne-Yo, wrote a touching tribute on his Instagram. Posting a picture of the boxer, Ne-Yo wrote, “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved son, brother, friend and boxing champion Paul Bamba, whose light and love touched countless lives.”

Ne-Yo continued to shower the former boxer with praise, writing about Bamba’s time in and out of the spotlight. “He was a fierce yet confident competitor with an unrelenting ambition to achieve greatness. But more than anything, he was a tremendous individual that inspired many with his exceptional drive and determination.”

Ending his statement, Ne-Yo and the Bamba family asked for privacy as they mourn the death of the boxer. “We are heartbroken by his passing and kindly ask for privacy and understanding during this difficult time as we collectively navigate our grief.”

Ne-Yo Showcased The Power Of Paul Bamba Shortly Before His Passing

Online, fans gathered around the family and Ne-Yo to offer their love and support. “Wow. In shock. So sorry to hear. I’m grateful to have met and crossed paths with him. A really genuine soul. Rest in Peace Paul.” Another person added, “ Oh no! This one hurts! He was a good hearted young man. I will cherish the few times we had together.”

Just a week ago, Ne-You offered a glimpse into the power and athleticism of Bamba. Besides sharing a video, he captioned the post with, “Proud to manage and stand behind Paul Bamba @bambajuice as he fights for a world title on Saturday. 13 fights and 13 knockouts in a year is a testament to hard work, heart and the pursuit of greatness. Let’s break the record and bring that belt home!”

While winning the belt, Bamba’s passing continues to shake the boxing world as his drive and commitment promised to leave an impact on the sport.
