The Voice aired a new episode tonight, May 5, and the Playoffs are heating up during their final night. John Legend and Michael Bublรฉ’s teams took the stage to prove they have what it takes to make it to the Live Finals.
Last week, Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini’s teams had the chance to perform. The coaches chose Kolby Cordell, Lucia Flores-Wiseman, Iris Herrera, andย Alanna Lynise to move on to the finals. Now it’s up to the remaining two teams to show off what they can do.

Specifically, RENZO from Team Legend wowed the coaches tonight. He performed a rendition of Hozier’s No. 1 hit “Too Sweet,” which blew everyone away, especially at the high-energy conclusion.
โMy favorite part of that performance was the last 4 seconds,โ said Adam Levine. โWhat I mean by that is I want more screamery. You have the best screaming voice in this competition. I feel that we havenโt heard enough of that from you, but man, you know I love you.โ
RENZO Wows The Voice Coaches with Hozier Rendition, While Kelsea Ballerini Speculates on His Future
The Voice coaches had nothing but positive feedback after RENZO’s performance. Kelsea Ballerini even posed some hypotheticals about his future career.
โLetโs go a year from now,โ she said. โYouโve put out a record. I bought it. You put out a T-shirt. I bought that, too. Koozie? Mine. Bought it.โ
Clearly, Ballerini is a fan. After some back and forth jokes from Levine and Bublรฉ, Ballerini continued by expressing her appreciation for RENZO’s talent.
โI am such a fan of you, and all those things will happen,” she said. “You lean more into the R&B/rock combination, and the flow of the two is so interesting to me, I want to see more of it. Thereโs no way youโre not part of this longer, is there?โ
RENZO’s coach, John Legend, then had some insightful words for him. This included revealing that he’s glad he blocked Levine from grabbing RENZO in the Blind Auditions.
โIt already feels like youโre a star, making those records, doing all that amazing merch that Kelsea is going to buy,” said Legend. “If we are going to go forward together, we want to make sure we pick songs that take advantage of that raw side of your voice that makes people feel the energy, the urgency. Iโm still very glad that I blocked Adam for you.โ
