As he continues his I’m the Problem Tour, Morgan Wallen is bringing Miranda Lambert along for the ride. Recently, she even joined Wallen onstage for a surprise duet of his 2023 single “Cowgirls.” And Lambert surprised the crowd again during a July 11 stop in Miami when she took the stage solo to perform a different Wallen hit that she helped pen.

Miranda Lambert Asked to Cover This Morgan Wallen Tune
Several years ago, Morgan Wallen teamed up with Miranda Lambert and award-winning singer-songwriter Nicolle Galyon to write “Thought You Should Know.” A poignant tribute to the county superstar’s mom, Lesli, “Thought You Should Know” debuted atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in May 2022.
Wallen chose to leave “Thought You Should Know” off his I’m the Problem Tour setlist. So, Lambert added it to her own. “A few years ago [Morgan Wallen and Nicolle Galyon] and I wrote this song about his mama,” she wrote on Instagram July 14. “He doesn’t play it in his set, so I asked if I could sing it with y’all out on the ‘I’m the Problem’ Tour.”
In a clip posted to social media, the country star, 41, sings, Yeah, I know you’ve been worrying ’bout me / You’ve been losing sleep since ’93 / I thought you should know / That all those prayers you thought you wasted on me / Must’ve finally made their way on through.
In the comments, several Instagram users were pleasantly surprised to learn Lambert, 41, had a hand in writing one of their favorite tunes. “the fact that you helped write this… makes all the sense as to why I love it,” one Instagram user wrote.
Others called for the “Kerosene” singer to release her own rendition of the No. 1 hit. “need a recorded ML version,” one fan wrote.

Morgan Wallen Wanted a “Mother’s Perspective” on ‘Thought You Should Know’
Initially, Morgan Wallen didn’t anticipate writing “Thought You Should Know” alongside Miranda Lambert. But when Nicolle Galyon called and asked if he’d mind her bringing the “Wranglers” singer along, the reigning Entertainer of the Year jumped at the chance.
“I wanted to write with a woman for this specific song just because it was for my mom and I wanted a woman’s perspective—a mother’s perspective in particular,” Wallen said in March 2023.
Turns out, two women are even better than one. “Yeah, Miranda is… you know, everybody knows how bad ass she is. And that’s not just a front. She is an incredibly talented musician, incredibly talented writer as well,” he said.
“I’m a huge fan of Miranda,” added the “You Proof” crooner, 32. “I was before I even moved to this town.”
