The hits just keep on coming for Morgan Wallen. His fans are currently recovering from the news that a new album is on the way, along with a follow-up to the record-breaking One Night at a Time Tour. And while there’s no word on when exactly that album will hit the airwaves, one of its tracks has already made its way to No. 1. With this, the East Tennessee-born artist eclipses a record set by Luke Combs.

Morgan Wallen Reaches No. 1 With “Love Somebody”
Last October, Morgan Wallen dropped “Love Somebody,” which he called “a little bit of a new approach lyrically and sonically.”
The gamble clearly paid off, as “Love Somebody” shoots to the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week. This marks Wallen’s 16th No. 1 hit on that chart since 2018’s “Up Down,” featuring Florida Georgia Line.
With this, the “Cowgirls” singer passes up Luke Combs for most No. 1 singles. The “Fast Car” singer currently boasts 15.

Wallen notched five No. 1 Country Airplay hits in 2024, the most for any artist in a single year in the chart’s 35-year history. “Lies Lies Lies” was the lone solo No. 1, with the rest being collaborations: “Cowgirls” with Ernest; “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone; “Man Made a Bar’ featuring Eric Church; and Thomas Rhett’s “Mamaw’s House.”
Wallen Is “Locked In” On His Next Project
Morgan Wallen embarks on his I’m The Problem Tour on June 20, 2025, in Houston, Texas. The latest tour gets its name from his forthcoming album, which he says is still in the works.
The “Whiskey Glasses” hitmaker assured Instagram followers that he is “locked in” on his latest album. Wallen shared a photo of himself in the studio to his Instagram Stories earlier this month.
The album’s title track will hit the airwaves next Friday (Jan. 31.) Wallen, 31, first teased “I’m The Problem” in January 2024. At the time, fans presumed the song was called “I Guess:” I guess I’m the problem / And you’re Miss Never Do No Wrong / If I’m so awful / Then why’d you stick around this long?
