The album, titled From the First Sting, will be released on September 26. In the Americas, the compilation will available as a single-CD collection and a two-LP set featuring 16 tracks. The LPs are pressed on 180-gram vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve.

In Europe and the rest of the world, the retrospective will be issued as a two-CD set featuring 31 tracks and a deluxe “bookpack” containing two CDs and two LPs.

From the First Sting takes fans on a sonic journey through the Scorpions history, showcasing the band’s hard-rock anthems, power ballads, and more. It begins with “In Search of the Peace of Mind,” from the Scorpions’ 1972 debut, Lonesome Crow, and ends with the title track of the group’s most recent studio effort, 2022’s Rock Believer.

Not surprisingly, the album includes the band’s biggest hits and best-known songs, among them “No One Like You,” “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” “Big City Nights,” and “Wind of Change.”

The compilation also features two previously unreleased recordings. The first is a 1973 performance of “This Is My Song” recorded at the Rock & Pop event. The second is a live rendition of the Scorpions’ 1984 tune “Still Loving You” performed with British violinist Vanessa Mae in 1996 on the French TV program Taratata.

From the First Sting is available for pre-order now.

The Scorpions’ 60th Anniversary Tour Plans

The Scorpions’ kicked off their 60th anniversary tour with a run of Latin American performances that began March 15 in Mexico City.

The trek initially was supposed to begin with a series of Las Vegas residency shows at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in late February and early March. Those concerts were postponed until August because drummer Mikkey Dee needed more time to recover from a “serious blood infection.

The Scorpions currently are in the middle of a lengthy European tour leg that began in early June. The trek is plotted out through a July 26 show in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

The Las Vegas engagement is scheduled for August 14, 16, 19, 21, and 23. Buckcherry will open all of the concerts.

The band also has shows lined up in Chisinau, Moldova, on September 9 and Bucharest, Romania, on September 11.
