After spending 50 years on the stage, KISS prepared to take the stage one more time in New York City. Throughout the life of the band, members like Gene Simmons watched as KISS sold over 100 million albums. The band also received 30 gold albums, which is the most of any band in the United States. KISS even landed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While ending their time on stage, Simmons promised the band would continue on using digital avatars. But looking back at that final live concert, it seems the band’s performance of “Rock and Roll All Nite” made its way online.

Celebrating the legacy of KISS, the band went on a farewell tour that lasted four years. Eventually, they made their way to New York City, and the band took the stage one last time. With the arena packed, KISS produced a concert that continues to gain praise. And one fan happened to capture the last time the group performed “Rock and Roll All Nite.”
Throughout the performance, KISS proved why they consistently received high marks for their concerts. With a stage full of equipment and pyrotechnics, Gene Simmons took the performance to new heights. And making sure to get the crowd into the performance, cannons launched confetti into the air.
Online, fans discussed the final concert and the impact KISS had on the music industry. “It’s incredible these guys are all in their 70s. They still sound great.” Another comment read, “The greatest American rock band ever. KISS.”
The Legacy Of KISS Isn’t Over Just Yet According To Gene Simmons
During their final performance, Simmons revealed what the future held with a digital avatar version of the band. Wanting to propel KISS into the future, the singer offered a glimpse into what fans should expect. Using the newest technology, he said, “When you put on virtual glasses, you get a 360-degree experience. Wherever you turn your head, you’re in that universe; you’re in a parallel universe, if you will. You could be in the land of dinosaurs or falling off a cliff or you pick your head up to the sky and you see the sky. And you lower your chin and you look like a chasm with your feet falling. So you actually believe, to the extent that you shut off your mind, that you’re actually in that world.”
Already sounding like a unique experience, Simmons really pumped up the excitement when he concluded, “Now imagine not wearing glasses and having that experience.” While still working on the new concert, the KISS avatar show is expected to hit the stage in 2027.
