Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma are seemingly the triple crown of country music talent. However, in regards to this article, Texas takes the crown as Parker McCollum, Randy Rogers, and William Beckmann recently teamed up. The three shared the stage in Oklahoma City which was one of the last shows of McCollum’s 2024 tour.

McCollum has arguably had one of the most successful years of his career, and it’s thanks to his record-breaking performance with George Strait, his ACM Award, new music, and most importantly, the birth of his child. That being so, when McCollum finished out 2024 at Nashville’s Big Bash on New Year’s Eve, he had hoards of things to be thankful for.
Even though McCollum brought the heat to Nashville on New Year’s Eve and gave the crowd quite the show. When he and the other two Texas natives took the stage in OKC, they stunned all the audience members in attendance by paying homage to the Sooner state.
Parker McCollum & Co Perform “Oklahoma Breakdown”
Performing in front of a packed crowd at Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center, McCollum, Rogers, and Beckmann shed their Texas skin to perform the Oklahoma staple, “Oklahoma Breakdown.” Prior to Beckmann and Rogers’ entrance, McCollum sang the first verse and then took a moment to invite the two on stage. For context, Rogers is the frontman of the Randy Rogers Band, and Beckmann is a solo artist known for his song, “In The Dark.”
Three of Texas’ finest might have been on stage, but the audience seemingly fell in love with the song originally written by the Oklahoma native, Mike Hosty. Additionally, the other Oklahoma native, Stoney LaRue, is mainly credited for making the song famous with his 2007 cover. Funny enough, LaRue was not born in Oklahoma. Rather, his birthplace is actually Taft, Texas.
It didn’t seemingly matter who sang the song, as the crowd ate up the music born and bred in their native state. Props to Parker McCollum for knowing and satisfying his audience’s needs, despite the potential ideological difference given his upbringing in Texas. Lastly, Rogers and Beckmann also joined McCollum on stage in Little Rock, Arkansas following their performance in OKC.
