Corrina Grant-Gill, known professionally as Corrina is the daughter of Amy Grant and Vince Gill. In recent months, she’s been showing the world that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree with her smart songwriting and powerful vocals. Last Friday (February 7), she released her debut full-length album House on Another Street. A few days before the album dropped, she got her followers on social media excited for the release with a nod to Carrie Underwood.

On January 31, a week before she released House on Another Street, Corrina took to social media to share a clip of her song “Twister,” a collaboration with Birdey Costello. Not only is “Twister” the only song on the album to feature a guest vocalist it’s also a highlight of the 10-track collection. Or, as the singer/songwriter phrased it in the video’s caption, “A tornader-bo-banger.”

In the video, she said the song was like “If ‘Blown Away’ by Carrie Underwood was grunge and from the tornado’s POV.”
Corrina Discusses New Music, Having Legendary Parents
Ahead of the release of her debut album, Corrina sat down with American Songwriter to discuss House on Another Street, her family, and more.
While Corrina is proud of who her parents are, their success doesn’t factor into how she views her career. “I am both a mix of my mom and dad and completely unique,” she said. “I think many people think that it must be hard or intimidating for me to follow in their footsteps, but the truth is that there is no comparison or competition between any of us. Their success is something that I am proud of,” she explained.
While Birdey Costello is the only guest vocalist on her debut album, Corrina did book her dad to play guitar. He appeared on “Little Painter,” the album opener. “I wept the first time I heard it,” she said of the song. “To have a piece of him on this album is so meaningful to me. The album as a whole, I am not quite sure how to define it in terms of genre, but I do know that it is my heart laid out on the floor,” she added.
