What Your Favorite 70s Band Says About You

Most people alive today have a favorite 70s band, even if they werenโ€™t around in the 70s to see those bands in all their glory. There are certainly many to pick from. From folk rock to psychedelic rock to good olโ€™ hard rock and early heavy metal, so much great music came out in that legendary decade. But what does your favorite 70s band say about you? Just for fun, let me pass a bit of judgment on you based on your favorite 70s band. Feel free to tell me how wrong I am in the comments!

Led Zeppelin

Youโ€™re a fan of the true classics. Iโ€™d also be bold enough to say youโ€™re a bit of a free spirit. Or, at least, you were a very free spirit back in the glory days of the 1970s, if you happened to be around back then. Time tames us all.

If Led Zeppelin is at the top of your list, I think you might be a bit of a romantic, but also a fan of all things mystical and mysterious. And when it comes to your music taste, you appreciate, above all else, the art of the live music experience. Listening to vinyl is fun, but attending a concert is what being alive is all about.

Rush

If Rush is your favorite 70s band, Iโ€™m going to assume youโ€™re the kind of person who enjoys pondering. Youโ€™re a thinker, someone who enjoys picking apart the complexities of music and other things in life. And if youโ€™re a musician yourself, or even an artist in general, you might just be a bit of a perfectionist. When it comes to music, you prefer enormous suites of music, rather than short, under-five-minute songs.

Santana

Youโ€™re the ultimate free spirit! And you probably really appreciate guitar talent. The flashier and showier, especially when it comes to live music, the better. You appreciate the uniquely Latin-inspired bluesiness of Santana, as well as the often spiritual undertones that come with that kind of music. Thereโ€™s a warmth to you, and a warmth to your musical preferences.

Creedence Clearwater Revival

If youโ€™re a big Creedence Clearwater Revival fan, I might just assume youโ€™re a sucker for nostalgia. Not too much, though; fans like you tend to be grounded and prefer the heartfelt, straightforward sort of rock music that CCR produced. Storytelling is your favorite aspect of music, and youโ€™ve got a bit of a soft spot for the bayou and the American South.

The Rolling Stones

Like Led Zeppelin fans, Iโ€™m going to assume youโ€™re a fan of the true classics. You enjoy classic rock and roll at its peak, and you could listen to the same Rolling Stones songs over and over without getting bored. When you were younger, I bet you had a rebellious streak, too.
