On April 8th, the California Highway Patrol responded to a crash on the 134 Freeway around 3:00 p.m.. While three cars were involved in the crash, three men in one of the vehicles decided to run. With the three suspects looking to evade the police, one decided to jump in a nearby pool after stripping to his boxers. As police patrolled the area surrounding Eagles Vista Drive and Waldo Place, the suspect hoped to blend in while he used the pool and even watered the person’s garden.

Although police located the individual and arrested them without incident, Jillian heard the commotion and decided to exit her house with a handgun. Not knowing what was going on, she found herself facing off with the police. According to an LAPD news release, “The officers ordered Shriner to drop the handgun numerous times; however, she refused. Shriner then pointed the handgun at the officers, and an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred. Shriner was struck by gunfire and fled into her residence. She later exited and was taken into custody.”

Weezer Makes Headlines Thanks To Jillian Shriner

After clearing the area, Jillian was treated by the L.A. Fire Department and transported to a nearby hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. While recovering from the injury, the musician’s wife found herself in a great deal of trouble as she had to pay a $1 million bond to get released for attempted murder.

Due in court on April 30th, the police found a 9-millimeter handgun at the home. Having no connection with the accident that started the ordeal, it appeared that Jillian was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thankfully, none of the suspects or the police were injured during the incident.

While taking one suspect into custody, the police continued to search for the two other men who escaped the crash.
