New Albums I Can Guarantee You’ll Be Loving
Dirty TV — Honeypuppy
Indie darlings Honeypuppy recently released their first full-length album Dirty TV, following their debut EP Nymphet from 2024. Honeypuppy is jangly and fun, with a bit of Pavement in their guitar style as they shift seamlessly from upbeat melodies to a foreboding grunginess and back to an unassuming lightness. The new album already feels like a classic from another decade. It pulls from nostalgic indie rock sentiment in a way that’s old-school at the same time that it’s brand new.
Moths Strapped To Each Other’s Backs — Bedridden
Bedridden dropped their debut full-length album on April 11 after releasing a handful of promising singles. And the album as a whole is a delightfully cohesive alternative offering. The Brooklyn-based band moves easily from one track to the next with shreddy guitar and evocatively grunge vocals. Standout tracks like “Philadelphia, Get Me Through” use choppy phrases and texture to replicate the feeling of trying to move forward but being pulled back into an unfavorable situation.
Post Heaven — Jadu Heart
Indie duo Jadu Heart released Post Heaven recently, a 12-track offering that skirts the psych-pop/electronic line of artists like Massive Attack. It’s dreamy, almost in a Grimesian way, through Diva Jeffrey’s light and airy vocals. However, there’s the added layer of Alex Headford sharing the vocal responsibilities, and the two together create a textural experience that’s incomparable. Post Heaven bops through heavy beats before transitioning smoothly to a more jangly sound, then back again and again. All the while, it’s scaffolded by Jeffrey and Headford’s alternating vocals.
Growing Pains — Trousdale
This entry on our list of new albums in April 2025 is a must-listen. Trousdale’s new album Growing Pains is a style-blending indie pop offering from the California-based trio looking to bring more attention to women doing it all in music. Growing Pains is a bright, pop-heavy album with an edge of country-rock that sets it apart. Featuring angelic three-part harmonies, Trousdale is right on the mark for girlies who are struggling with growing up and letting go of their youthful spirit (Here’s a hint, says Trousdale: “You don’t have to.“)
