There’s something particularly special about one country star marrying another. In most cases, both musicians become famous as a duo. Nobody can sing love songs with quite as much passion as two people who are already in love with each other, after all. Let’s take a look at five country stars who married other country stars!

1. Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter
Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter married in 1969 and had one son together. Shooter Jennings is also a musician today.
Jennings was known for being one of the biggest outlaw country musicians of his heyday, and Colter was struggling to get her first contract after the pair were married. Luckily, Jennings helped her out; and the music the duo made together was quite noteworthy. “I Belong To Him” and “Storms Never Last” are essential listening.
2. June Carter and Johnny Cash
These two late great musicians are probably the best-known example of country stars who married each other. June Carter and Johnny Cash met at the Grand Ole Opry in 1956. They married in 1968 and had a son together named John Carter Cash, who also went on to become a country singer/songwriter himself.
Carter and Cash performed together quite often, even before they initially got together. However, it wasn’t until after they were wed that they produced some of their most popular tunes together, including songs like “It Ain’t Me Babe” and “No Need To Worry”. The pair were also regularly featured on the brief series The Johnny Cash Show.
3. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are as famous for their marriage as they are for their respective solo careers. They’re basically country music royalty at this point. The two musicians met in 1987 when they were both married to different spouses. After they both went through their respective divorces, they started dating and then married in 2005.
The pair have performed together regularly, and their headlining tours have sold the most tickets of any married country music couple ever. Their biggest hits include “Squeeze Me In” and “In Another’s Eyes”, among others.
4. Chris Stapleton and Morgane Hayes
Chris Stapleton and Morgane Hayes met in 2003 while working on a song together. They began dating shortly after and were married in 2007. The couple have five children together.
These married country stars don’t perform together as often as other couples on our list. But when they do, it’s quite a special treat. “You Are My Sunshine” and “Starting Over” are just a couple of great hits featuring both artists.

5. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
Like Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are more or less country music royalty. They’re one of the biggest power couples in the industry, and for good reason. Their chemistry is undeniable, particularly when they tour together as a couple.
These two married country stars met while in different relationships in 1994. They didn’t start their relationship until they toured together several years later. McGraw and Hill were married in 1996, and they quickly became one of the biggest country music duos in the years that followed. They still tour and record music together today.
