Ella Langley never doubted she’d find success as a musician. “This had been the plan for my whole life,” she boldly declared during a recent appearance on the God’s Country podcast. Thanks in part to the runaway success of her Riley Green collab “You Look Like You Love Me,” that plan came to fruition in 2024. Recently, Langley took to social media to show off her shredding skills with a cover of Heart’s “Barracuda.”

Watch Ella Langley Shred This Heart Song
Sister duo Ann and Nancy Wilson, who made up Heart, released “Barracuda” in 1977 as the lead single off their third album, Little Queen. The song peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ever since, “Barracuda” has cemented its place among the best rock-and-roll songs of all time.
If you’ve ever played Guitar Hero, you’ve likely cursed Nancy’s name as you struggled through the twisting riffs and chords of “Barracuda.” Apparently Ella Langley didn’t have that problem. The “Don’t Mind If I Do” singer, 25, shared a video of herself attacking the classic tune on her own guitar to TikTok.
“Much better at this song on guitar hero,” Langley wrote in the caption.
Millennials and Gen Z fans rushed to the comments to reminisce about Guitar Hero’s heyday. “Real ones grew up on guitar hero,” one TikTok user wrote.
Another fan commented that Ella Langley’s take “sounds like a 60’s surfer rock version!”

Langley Is “Letting God Take the Wheel” on Forthcoming Sophomore Album
Born in Hope Hull, Alabama, Ella Langley was a fixture on her hometown festival circuit before moving to Nashville in 2019. Four years later, she signed a record deal with Sony Music Nashville and Columbia Records. Her studio debut, Hungover, landed on Rolling Stone’s Best Country Albums of 2024. However, Langley is already looking to the future.
During her appearance on the God’s Country podcast, Langley revealed that the bulk of her follow-up album has “really organically fallen out.”
“With this next record, I kinda wanna show that side a little more of me. The Alabama, who is Ella Langley,” she said.
Later, she added, “Not just the songwriter or the artist, but the human being.”
