Many country songs about heartbreak are dripping with emotion. However, there are a select few that feel more light-hearted than somber. Check out three such songs, below.

3 Country Songs That Make Light of a Breakup–Featuring Luke Combs, Travis Tritt, and More
1. “When It Rains It Pours”
Sometimes what we think will be the end of us, ends up being what sets us free. That’s the notion behind Luke Combs‘ “When It Rains It Pours.” Combs finds himself on a redneck roll after his girlfriend walks out on him. Though going through a heartbreak is never easy, running into some luck certainly sweetens the deal.
Then I won a hundred bucks on a scratch-off ticket
I bought two 12-packs and a tank of gas with it
She swore they were a waste of time
Oh, but she was wrong
I was caller number five on a radio station
Won a four day, three night beach vacation
Deep sea señorita fishin’ down in Panama
And I ain’t gotta see my
Ex-future-mother-in-law anymore
Oh Lord, when it rains it pours
2. “Here’s a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)”
Everyone has that one comeback that they wish they could dish out. Though not many of us do it, we can live vicariously through those that do. Travis Tritt does so in “Here’s a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares).” He’s viciously apathetic in this track, turning down a lover that comes crawling back. Call someone who’ll listen, and might give a damn, he says in the cutting chorus.
You say you were wrong to ever leave me alone
And now you’re sorry, you’re lonesome and scared
And you say you’d be happy if you could just come back home
Well, here’s a quarter, call someone who cares
Call someone who’ll listen, and might give a damn
Maybe one of your sordid affairs
But don’t you come around here handin’ me none of your lies
Here’s a quarter, call someone who cares
3. “Keep It To Yourself”
In a similar vein, Kacey Musgraves once shrugged off an apology attempt in “Keep It To Yourself.” Musgraves is the kind of girl that moves on fully after a breakup–at least that’s how she touts herself in this song. Keep it to yourself / If you think that you still love me, Musgraves sings, pragmatically dealing with the end of a relationship.
You heard from your friends
That I’m doin’ okay
And you’re thinkin’ that maybe you made a mistake
And you want me to know
But I don’t wanna know
How you’re feelin’
Keep it to yourself
If you think that you still love me
Put it on a shelf
If you’re looking for someone
Make it someone else
When you’re drunk
And it’s late
And you’re missin’ me like hell
Keep it to yourself
