“A little bit over a year ago, I literally struggled to walk down my hill to the mailbox, y’all,” Jelly Roll said in the video, which you can watch below.

He went on to explain that he was motivated to get into shape after hearing about comedians Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer’s 5K back in 2024. Now, Jelly Roll is connecting with Segura and Kreischer again for the 2025 2 Bears 5K on May 4 in Tampa, Florida. And he’s inviting his fans to join his own run club, dubbed the Losers Run Club.

Jelly Roll went on to say that he hopes that the power of community can help those who join “create huge change”. He also noted that he believes a large group of people who want to get healthier can come together and encourage each other.

How To Join Jelly Roll’s Losers Run Club

Whether you’re a Jelly Roll fan or not, you can join his run club easily. If you’ve got a Facebook account, you’re already halfway there. The Losers Run Club can be joined via their Facebook group, as well as the app Strava. For those not in the know, Strava is an activity tracker app that has become popular with runners and cyclists in recent years.

After joining the group, fans will be able to benefit from training tips and community encouragement. Runner Matthew Johnson will help those who join by putting together a “couch to 5K” plan for new members.

“What we are trying to inspire here is just change and belief and community,” said Jelly Roll. “Somewhere where you can go and feel judgment-free when you’re trying to figure this thing out. I know how rough it was at first and how embarrassed I was to just be sucking snot and air every time I walked down the driveway. But it felt so good to have friends and people behind me, telling me I was doing the right thing.”

We can definitely vibe with that. If you’re a little bit nervous about the idea of running, don’t worry. Jelly Roll got real about that, too.

“We use the word ‘run’ loosely here, y’all,” he said in the above-mentioned video and noted that he walked for his first 5K. It’s better to get it done than try to do it perfectly!
