That Academy typically invites the Best Original Song nominees to perform their acclaimed songs at the show. However, this year’s nominees will not take the stage.
That means viewers won’t be seeing Clément Ducol and Camille perform “El Mal” or “Mi Camino” from Emilia Pérez, Diane Warren perform “The Journey” from The Six Triple Eight, Abraham Alexander and Adrian Quesada perform “Like a Bird” from Sing Sing, or Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Andrew Watt, and Bernie Taupin perform “Never Too Late” from Elton John: Never Too Late.
Instead, the night’s entertainers will participate in show-stopping performances celebrating the filmmaking community and some of its legends at the 97th Oscars.
The Performers at the 2025 Academy Awards
Wicked‘s Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are among the most anticipated performers of the night. The women, both of whom are nominated for their respective roles of Elphaba and Glinda, are sure to wow the crowd during their time on stage.
Doja Cat, LISA of Blackpink, and RAYE have also been announced as performers. Per the Academy, the women will team up for ” a show-stopping celebration of cinema.”
Queen Latifah is the final planned performer. She’s set to “take the Oscars stage for a moment you won’t want to miss!”
Additionally, the show will feature a special appearance by the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
“The Los Angeles Master Chorale is honored to take the stage at the 97th Oscars this Sunday!” the group wrote on Instagram. “We can’t wait to be part of this incredible night alongside so many talented artists.”
Conan O’Brien is hosting this year’s Academy Awards. Emilia Pérez leads the pack with 13 nominations, with Wicked and The Brutalist close behind with 10 nods a piece.
The 97th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC, streamed live on Hulu and airs live in more than 200 territories worldwide.
