Gayle King “Is Terrified” About Her Blue Origin Space Trip With Katy Perry

The idea of going to space has been the dream of countless children, teenagers, and adults all over the world. Getting the chance to blast off from Earth to explore the vast openness of space even inspired numerous science fiction stories and films. But while only a dream for some, Gayle King found it becoming a reality when Jeff Bezos offered her a spot on his Blue Origin space trip. With the craft able to hold more than a single person, Gayle joined the all-women crew that included Lauren Sanchez and Katy Perry. But even with the flight marking a massive moment in their careers, King apparently isn’t all that excited to go.

Having explored themes of space in her music before, Perry seemed like the perfect fit for the space flight. Having spent years as a judge on American Idol, Perry left the show to focus on her music career. But even fans were shocked when her name landed on the list. Expected to launch in the spring, Gayle shared her concern, stating, “I don’t know how to explain being terrified and excited at the same time. It’s like how I felt about to deliver a baby.”

Getting some much-needed support from people like Oprah Winfrey, Gayle explained, “Once Kirby and Will and Oprah was fine with it, I was fine. I thought Oprah would say no, no. She said, ‘I think if you don’t do it, when they all come back and you had the opportunity to do it, you will be kicking yourself.’ She’s right.”

The Planets Might Not Align For Gayle King And Katy Perry

Pushing past her own hesitation, fans also shared their concern after watching Gayle discuss the upcoming flight. “I’m so confused about Gayle King going to space. I mean she literally seems terrified as if she’s being forced to do so.” Another person added, “I need Gayle King to know she don’t have to go into space. That lady scared as hell.”

It appeared that Gayle’s hesitation might be trying to tell her something as astrologer Ashley Sipes warned her and others like Perry not to go. Sharing a video on TikTok, she noted, “Ms. King is headed to space, okay. She’s getting in a rocket mid-spring, I believe, I don’t know the exact date, so we’re going April 15 and her gut is telling her not to go, and I’m telling her not to go. I’m not saying something terrible or tragic is going to happen, but this just doesn’t feel right to me.”

Breaking down the placement of the planets at the time, Sipes learned, “She’ll have transit Uranus squared her natal Pluto. This is a very slow-moving transit, and on its own doesn’t really concern me much. I would say division of a business partnership of some kind, but then we have Jupiter squaring Mars, and Mars is in her second house, it’s at 17 degrees.”

What does all that exactly mean? “’That is in the sign of Pisces—17 degrees of Pisces warns of accidents and violence in travel.”

Although cautious about the trip, Gayle getting a chance to see her home from space will mark the 11th human flight helmed by the Shepard Program.
