Country musicians come from all over the world. However, there are a select few states in the US that pump out country talent like no other. Some of those states include Texas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Alabama, and of course, the capital of country music, Tennessee. Frankly, Tennessee might be the state to pump out the most country musicians, period. However, that is up for debate. Nonetheless, the state sure has produced its fair share of country music superstars.

It makes sense that Tenessee has produced some of the finest talent in country music. Although, when you realize just how many artists they have produced, the notion becomes a bit unfathomable. Regardless, here are three star-studded country musicians who were raised in the Volunteer State of Tennessee.
Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton is quite frankly the embodiment of Tennessee herself. In addition to having the Dollywood theme park in her home region, Dolly Parton has made it very apparent that she was born and raised in East Tennessee. As a matter of fact, would Dolly Parton be Dolly Parton if she hadn’t spent her most formative years in rural Tennessee?
Other than her plethora of public appearances in which she praised her state, Dolly Parton has released quite a few songs celebrating her home state. Some of those include “My Tennessee Mountain Home”, “My Moutains My Home”, and “Tennessee Homesick Blues”. Needless to say, Dolly Parton is the unofficial spokesperson of the Volunteer State.
Kenny Chesney
Kenny Chesney might not be a country music icon quite yet, though he is certainly on his way there and quite close. Born and raised right outside of Knoxville, Tennessee, Chesney has made it apparent that he is a proud native of the Volunteer State and one of the most well-known musicians to come out of it. Consequently, he is one of the notable musicians hailing from the capital of country music, Tennesse.
Again, Chesney is very outspoken about his roots. Other than claiming Tennesse as his official home, he has released several songs testifying to his state pride. In Chesney’s catalog, the notable songs he has written about Tennesse are “Anything But Mine” and “Touchdown Tennessee”.
Morgan Wallen
As of now, Morgan Wallen is one of the most popular country musicians hailing from the great state of Tennessee. Wallen was born and raised in both Sneedville and Knoxville, and he is very outspoken about his affinity for his homestate. Particularly, Wallen has been very verbal about his deep admiration for the state’s college football team, the Tennessee Volunteers.
In Wallen’s expansive catalog, some of his songs mentioning his home state are “Talkin’ Tennesse”, “Tennessee Numbers”, and of course one of the main anthems for the Volunteer football team, “Tennesse Fan”. In short, Morgan Wallen wears his state pride proudly on his sleeve.
